After we used Padlet to record our thinking, we continued to investigate through books, videos on Discovery Education, science lessons taught my my partner (who does an awesome job teaching all the 1st grade science - I teach math), and more.
To celebrate space and questioning, we decided to write a collaborative poem. We used our Padlet brainstorming wall as a starting point. Here's what they came up with. We all love it and shared it on our board outside.
My students loved it so much they decided to use their Free Workboard station time publishing the poem in different ways. Their choices made my heart sing! I loved seeing what apps they chose - all their own ideas - and how they chose to collaborate!
