Pixabay - A Great Classroom Resource for Images

The ThingLink that I shared here yesterday used a really fun pumpkin image. I found that image at my favorite resource for Public Domain images, Pixabay.com.

Pixabay Terms of Service uses the Creative Commons Deed CC0 - meaning that users who upload their images to Pixabay forfeit all copyright licenses, and let you and your students use their pictures for free! I recommend that you read more about CC0 here.

Pixabay is very simple to use. Just type in a search term and scan through all the images that come up.

Click on one that is useful to you or your students. Then just click the download button, where you'll be able to choose the file size that you need.

After you download your image, you'll be able to insert it wherever you need, or edit it.

In Pixabay's Terms of Service they do say a link back to Pixabay to give credit for the image you downloaded would be nice but is not required. I think that it is very important to teach students to give credit where credit is due, so we will always make sure we reference where we got the image.

How will you put Pixabay to use with your students?
