Pumpkin Investigation
We have been thoroughly enjoying our pumpkin investigation unit this year. I started with the goal of having students make text to self, text, and world connections with the texts and media we would be using.
We have read several books and used different forms of media to gain new information, as well as share about what we learned. We've been using ThingLink and Popplet Lite this week.
The resources that we added to this ThingLink helped us learn about the world's largest pumpkin, as well as learn how pumpkins are grown and canned. We also loved the Halloween songs I found! I hope that you can use it too.
We used Carve-A-Pumpkin and Popplet Lite to make Jack-O-Lanterns and create word maps about verbs for pumpkins. See what else we did with the Carve-A-Pumpkin app here.
We're reading Rotten Pumpkin: A Rotten Tale in 15 Voices and getting ready to cut apart our pumpkin and watch it rot! More on that coming soon! You'll really want to check it out!
