#appsmash4 Challenge - Smashing Word Clouds

My Twitter friend Craig Badura, is hosting an App Smash Challenge this week! Check out his invitation to participate on his blog Comfortably 2.0. I didn't touch my computer all weekend (I was very proud of myself for unplugging), so I am very excited for the challenge to blog 4 out of 5 days this week!

The first App Smash I'm sharing is a project my 1st grade kiddos did last week for Greg Kulowiec's Alphabet X Explain Everything Global Screencasting Project.

We used: Evernote, Word Clouds by ABCya (one of my favorite new discoveries!), Doodle Buddy & Explain Everything.

We chose the letter F, and decided to brainstorm a list of words we love starting with F. We did this in Evernote so that we could work on the list a few separate times during the day. If you make a word cloud using the Word Cloud app, you won't be able to edit the list again. So use a note taking app, then paste the list in.

Then wrote two little riddles inspired by a project that my GT student have been working on. We wrote and illustrated them in Doodle Buddy.

We put it all together and recorded in Explain Everything. We can't wait to see the final product when all the screencasts are put together!
