Crazy for Haiku Deck

If you haven't seen Haiku Deck yet you are totally missing out! I LOVE this app, and my students loved it too!

Here's a silly little haiku I made for Haiku Deck that highlights some of my favorite features ...

Created with Haiku Deck, the free presentation app for iPad

Awesome features:
      * creative commons licensed photos in app
      * simple text layouts with many options
      * add your own photos with camera roll
      * add notes for the presenter
      * publish and view anywhere from www.haikudeck.com

This past year we used it my classroom to publish poetry and make presentations with our animal research. Even my first graders are super independent with this app, with just a few simple instructions. The thing I found myself helping them with the most was spelling - just to find the pictures they wanted to include.

Here's two of the awesome poems created in my room this year.

Also, each Fourth grader on our campus used Haiku Deck to create timelines for their annual Wax Museum. The students research a historical figure, dress like them and share their research through a speech and interactive timeline. Haiku Deck allowed students to use creative commons licensed photographs right from the app, and add their research. It was a huge success!

Happy creating!
