I truly value the growth that I have made as an educator since I've been actively growing my PLN, or personal / professional learning network. While I use a variety of sites & tools to read, curate & connect, the two that I feel are most valuable to me are Twitter and Feedly.
I love the flow and exchange of information and ideas on Twitter. I read articles and see points of view that I might never would have otherwise seen. I have read about something, then brought it to my classroom the next day. I have been inspired, learned so much, and grown as a professional.
Feedly allows easy, organized access to any blog I want to read. I can pick and choose what I want to read, save for later, or share posts to a variety of tools. Feedly allows users access on iOS, Android and through browsers.
This afternoon I was finally able to share how much I value my PLN with some of the staff at my campus. The teachers I work with are WONDERFUL and we learn from each other each day, but we are a very small school, and other perspectives and ideas are valued, and necessary!
Here's the ThingLink I built for our staff on PLN building, Twitter and blog reading tips. I added several "Tweeps" that I follow in a few different educational "categories", educational chat times and more. I hope it might be helpful to others as well.
Happy Tweeting!
