10 Must Have Picture Books for 1st Grade

Mandy @ Enjoy-EmbraceLearning and Cathy @ Reflect & Refine sponsor a Picture Book 10 for 10 book jog each August. I'm participating this year with my Picture Book 10 for 10: 10 Must Haves for First Grade. Click on either one of their blogs to see the many more lists that are being posted.

Here they are, in no particular order as that would be impossible to do ...

1. The OK Book
2. King Bidgood's In the Bathtub
3. Dragons Love Tacos
4. A Ball For Daisy
5. That Is Not A Good Idea
6. Owen
7. There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly
8. Kunuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale
9. The Biggest Frog In Australia
10. Pond Circle

I did a little App Smashing, so, use the ThingLink below, made using Pic Collage to view an interactive list of my top 10.

  4. Meghan,
I'm trying to focus on your books, but I'm just fascinated with your presentation. AppSmash? ThingLink? Wow, you have my mind racing.

Loved your titles. Many of my favorites here.

    1. Cathy,
Thanks so much for hosting PB 10 for 10! I had so much fun putting this together & reading through tons of book lists! I can't wait for the non fiction one in February! I'll be sure to participate!

  5. Whoa---really fancy presentation! Just love it!
Thanks for the app smashing advice also. Probably a little beyond me technically right now, but I've saved the link for when I feel more ready to investigate.

  6. Great list - many of these books are favourites in our house/or my classroom. Love King Bidgood's in the bathtub! We read this countless times when our children were little. They would march around the house reciting the text!
