Kids Doodle & iMovie - Oh, the Possibilities!

I used Kids Doodle in my classroom last year to help students who were struggling with high frequency words. In small groups I would have them write the word and then draw a picture to help remember it. I loved that they could tap the movie reel and watch what they wrote! I also loved that if they were working on a word on their own I could watch their movie and notice things like letter formation, mistakes that they fixed and more. It's a great too!

This year I want to make Kids Doodle and iMovie work together to open up even more possibilities!
I created some app smashing task cards that give basic directions for making a picture and movie in KidsDoodle, as well as creating a video using the Kids Doodle creation in iMovie. Click here or the pictures below to download them.

You and your students can create high frequency word videos, science, social studies or math concept videos and more! Wouldn't it be awesome for the students to create a diagram, then add extra information with their voices in iMovie?!

Check out these examples ... I would put this type of project on the Modification level of the SAMR model, since there is a significant redesign in the way students are practicing high frequency words.

How will you use Kids Doodle in your room? Will you app smash Kids Doodle with any other apps? Happy doodling!
